This region boasts national wildlife refuges, state parks, historical sites, and some of the best sporting and recreation lakes in the state including Blue Dog, Enemy Swim, Lake Thompson, Lynn, Roy, Rush and Waubay Lakes. Watertown claims Kampeska and Pelican Lakes. Further south are Poinsett and Oakwood Lakes.
